Series 3 of record group 84-48 consists of material relating to forestry management in Michigan for the years 1927-56. Blank forms show the operational procedures of the Department of Conservation in the late 1920's. Correspondence is concerned with campground maintenance in various state forests from 1936 to 1952. Includes a folder of material on a suggested teachers' field trip. Also includes a forest resources appraisal and timber management study conducted in 1944 by the Forests Products Research Advisory Committee. The study examined the possibilities of industrial utilization of wood in the state in the light of the development in wood technology, of future forest conditions, and of making application of the results of the study to assist the forest industry.
